FUNdraising is hard. So we tried to keep the FUN in it....
In lieu of simply asking people to donate, we got a little more creative and decided to get donations by hosting a city wide scavenger hunt. Each team donated money and in return got a fun Saturday exploring our beautiful city!
Here is a run down of how today's events played out:
On August 21st at 2pm EIGHT teams gathered together by the Train at Pan Pacific Park.
Each team donated $100 to The I'm Nobody School Project.
At 2:30 they set off on a foot race around LA solving clues to get them closer to the final destination. They went from the park, to the Grove, then to Grauman's Chinese Theatre. Then many took their first subway ride to Downtown LA where they visited Grand Central Market and Walt Disney's Concert Hall. They rode the subway back to Hollywood and finished their final clues with the help of the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Kodak Theatre Oscar Winners. All the teams staggered into Pig N whistle, a local pub for their final resting place.
It took the teams an average of 3 1/2 hours to complete the race. Along the way there were many challenges, some easier than others, but everyone seemed to have a great time and we had a great time planning it. We are so grateful for all of our friends that were able to come out and participate!
THANKS AGAIN TO EVERYONE FOR SUPPORTING US & THE CAUSE!
