I decided to ask my closest friends and family for a little help. My brother got married recently, so I had access to a mailing list that was really helpful. I sent out a letter to 90 families. In 3 weeks we have gotten about $1200 in donations!
That is so awesome! It is scary to ask people for money, but sometimes you just have to ask, and hope for the best. :)
